A Visit to Serua and Beyond

One of the fourteen provinces that make up Fiji, Serua is situated on the southernmost part of Viti Levu, the largest of the islands in the country. As of the 2007 census, the province is home to 18,249 people. It covers the district of Nuku as well as the Serua District and is governed by a council.

The most popular attraction in Serua is the Pacific Harbour Tourist resort and shopping center. This is frequented by travellers as a day trip spot from Nadi and other parts of the island. The Pacific Harbour offers great water sports opportunities, an assortment of dining options and independent stores. While it may not be as great as the ones in larger travel destinations around the world, it is currently being developed as one of the major tourism centers in the island.

Serua is hosted in the island of Viti Levu. A drive up north will take travellers to the city of Suva, the major commercial center in the country. The city, being the main town in the island, is home to a number of national offices and interesting colonial inspired landmarks. The city also has a lot of parks and open spaces frequented by both locals and tourists because of their recreation opportunities.

But the most popular travel destination on the island is the town of Nadi. From the province of Serua, travellers will need to travel north west to get there. It is home to the main international gateway in the country, the Nadi International Airport. Popular attractions include a Hindu Temple located on the southern part of the town’s main street, the Wailoaloa Beach to the north and the Nadi Garden of the Sleeping Giant.
